Working from an early age in a family owned farming company, Julian became interested in hunting and started working during weekends guiding for Red Deer in the Scottish highlands. In the mid nineties Julian ventured out from the farming industry and joined a large multinational technology company, specializing in distribution development and civil construction consultancy. It was whilst traveling around North America hunting that he met he’s first “real” bow hunters and just loved how archery brings hunters to our ancestral roots as hunter-gatherers. Julian’s love for the sport of hunting/bow hunting, led to the development of Hawkes Bay Archery a sister company to South Canterbury Outfitters. Julian aims to give his customers a custom-tailored experience, no matter what their skill level or background. As a pro shop, Hawkes Bay Archery offer an extensive range of archery equipment and arguably the top bow brand on the market – Elite. Our outdoor 3D shooting range allows customers to fine-tune their skills in a controlled environment aided by Julian, with years of experience in the field he will help you take your archery skills to the next level..
